Hi! I'm a writer living in Vancouver, Canada. I used to mostly write poetry, then I mostly wrote essays. Now, I do both of those things and sometimes write fiction. I am currently working on a novel-shaped project.
I'm the author of four books: two collections of poems, cultural criticism about The Bachelor franchise, and the novel Quality Time. The latter is pretty easy to find in Canada and pretty hard to find anywhere else. If you live outside of Canada and want a copy, feel free to reach out.
You can read my writing in Harper’s, The New York Times Magazine, Slate, Buzzfeed Reader, The Walrus, Maisonneuve, Hazlitt, and elsewhere. I have (occasionally) won and (more often) been on short/long lists for awards from the Writers’ Trust of Canada, the League of Canadian Poets, the Toronto Books Awards, the National Magazine Awards, and elsewhere.
I'm a Faculty Mentor in the MFA in Fiction at the University of King’s College. In 2026-27, I'll teach creative nonfiction in the University of British Columbia's MFA. I'm the poetry editor for Maisonneuve.
I live on the unceded land of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations with my partner, who is a public librarian, and our young child, who is a generalist.
